Earlier this year, on February 12th to be exact, North Star Games launched a digital version of the award-winning board game Evolution (Free) into the App Store. The aim of the game is for each player to take their species and evolve them with various attributes that will allow them to survive through a constantly changing ecosystem. The digital version comes equipped with a single-player campaign and a robust online multiplayer, and we awarded it 5 stars in our review when it released. And now, the other mobile gamers out there, i.e. Nintendo Switch gamers, will have an opportunity to enjoy Evolution on their system of choice. I was actually able to get a hands-on demo of the Switch version of Evolution during PAX West a couple of weeks ago, so below you can see the official Switch announcement trailer followed by video of that PAX demo.
In celebration of this announcement, the existing digital versions of Evolution are currently on sale for 40% off. Both the iOS version and the Android version on the Google Play Store are free to try with a one-time IAP to unlock the full game, which is just $5.99 during the sale. The Steam version for desktop is normally $14.99 and is just $8.99 during this sale. As for the newly announced Nintendo Switch version, North Star is hoping to release it right around the beginning of the new year. Until then, the other versions of Evolution are very much worth checking out, especially the iOS and Android versions which you can try for free, and we look forward to the Switch version arriving in a few months or so.
