At the end of July we learned that Gunslinger Studios had made the tough choice to put development of their promising PvP dueling game Exiles of Embermark on hold due to a lack of funds. The game had been in development for over three years and by the developer’s own estimates was about 75% finished, so it was a real shame to see things go down the way they did. One silver lining to that announcement was Gunslinger unveiling a new project called Dungeoning. It basically takes the massively deep item and customization system of Exiles and repurposes it into a clever dungeon crawler idle game. Crucially Dungeoning is of the scope that it should hopefully get finished and released in a timely manner, and should it go on to actually earn a little bit of money, well that will go right into finishing Exiles of Embermark. Anyway, here is a little teaser of the pixel art depicting the different moves for each of the classes in Dungeoning, which from top to bottom shows the Warrior, Wizard, Rogue, Cleric, and Bard.
You can tell that bottom row is the Bard because of all the lutes, you know? Anyway, while pixel art icons maybe aren’t the most exciting thing in the world, they did accompany another announcement that is majorly exciting. Gunslinger is currently taking sign-ups for a Dungeoning beta test, and if this interests you, you can fill out the form for beta testing right here. You can also find some additional developer blog posts over on the Dungeoning website, if you’re into that sort of thing. I was sad seeing Exiles of Embermark get put on hold, but happy to see Dungeoning emerge and I think it’s going to be one to look out for.
