Bandai Namco Announces ‘Naruto x Boruto Ninja Tribes’, a 3 vs 3 Free to Play Team Battler RPG

Following the release of the ultra popular Naruto x Boruto Ninja Voltage a couple of years ago, Bandai Namco is once again releasing a mobile game based on the exploits of Naruto Uzumaki and his son Baruto with a new title called Naruto x Boruto Ninja Tribes. This new game is of the ever-popular free to play RPG battler where you’ll collect “fan-favorite characters spanning multiple generations of Naruto lore" and then form teams of three to take battle it out against others in iconic locations from the Naruto universe. Here’s a brand new trailer which, in very teasing fashion, doesn’t show much of the actual game itself.

One interesting thing about Naruto x Boruto Ninja Tribes is that it will be releasing on iOS and Android as expected, but will also be playable via web browser, and due to Bandai Namco’s partnership with the anime streaming service Crunchyroll, those who play on the web will get special connections with the actual show, which sounds pretty cool. Speaking of Crunchyroll, the Crunchyroll Expo is taking place this weekend in San Jose, and if you’ll happen to be there you can check out a playable demo of Naruto x Boruto Ninja Tribes for yourself at the show. There will also be more revealed about the game at the Crunchyroll Games Industry Panel at the expo on August 30 at 1:45 PM PT. No release date has been revealed but expect more on Naruto x Boruto Ninja Tribes soon.
