The trend of releasing free to play RPG battlers based on popular IPs continues unabated today as Oasis Games has launched One Punch Man: Road To Hero (Free) in the iOS App Store. It is based on the popular One Punch Man anime and was originally announced with a pre-registration campaign back in June, which according to Oasis resulted in more than 200,000 pre-registrations, but the expected release date for One Punch Man: Road To Hero at that time was September 16th. Whether that was just a placeholder date or Oasis decided to jump the gun a bit, One Punch Man: Road To Hero has officially launched on the iOS App Store today nearly a month ahead of schedule, and the Android version is supposedly going to follow along “shortly." Here’s the official trailer for One Punch Man: Road To Hero.
As is typically the case with free to play battlers based on a popular IP, One Punch Man: Road To Hero looks to provide quite a bit of fan service as it features the original art of Yusuke Murata, voice acting from the original anime actors, and was developed in partnership with original series creator ONE and the production team responsible for the animated series. You’ll be able to “Relive thrilling confrontations with powerful mysterious beings, such as Vaccine Man, Deep Sea King, and Lord Boros" and collect more than 50 characters from the series in order to create the ultimate team. The titular One Punch Man Saitama is not a playable character in the game, because frankly he’s just too OP, but players will have the ability to call upon him for help during battles. If you’re a One Punch Man fan then there’s no reason not to check out One Punch Man: Road To Hero for free to see what it’s all about, and you can drop by the game’s thread in our forums to share your feelings about it.
