In terms of surprising brand crossovers, I don’t think anyone ever fathomed that the massively popular Bridge Constructor series from Headup Games would be mixing it up with the cult-classic first-person puzzler series Portal from Valve. But you know what? That’s exactly what happened in December of 2017 when Bridge Constructor Portal ($4.99) launched in the App Store. Even more surprising was that the crossover worked quite well. At its heart Bridge Constructor Portal is more a Bridge Constructor game than a Portal game, but the added mechanics and humor from the Portal series did spice up the bridge-building gameplay a lot. And perhaps the most surprising part of all of it was that Bridge Constructor Portal was a paid game with no IAP, which is pretty rare for this type of game. Now in celebration of the Lunar New Year Headup has discounted the game to its lowest price ever, down to just $1.99 until February 2nd.
It’s often hard to justify posting about sales these days as most games are just free or are going on discount every other day which makes it feel much less noteworthy. In the case of Bridge Constructor Portal though, it’s only ever been discounted once since release, and that was almost a year ago and its sale price then was $2.99. This latest sale is even cheaper than that, and for a couple of bucks there is a ton of solid gameplay to be had here. You can read our full review of Bridge Constructor Portal from when it released where we really enjoyed all aspects of the crossover but were frustrated at times with getting stuck on particularly difficult levels. Like I said though, for the current sale price you really can’t go wrong picking this one up, especially if you’re already a fan of previous Bridge Constructor games.
