There are few things I enjoy more than a good pun or wordplay, and while the upcoming game Punlock from Honeymoon Software is at its heart a straightforward word game, it does have a delightfully clever title. Letters are presented on multiple rings presented as a padlock, and you’ll rotate the individual rings in order to create a word straight across the middle of the padlock. Each level has a theme and all the words you’ll discover will be related to that theme. If you find all the words in a level you’ll pop the lock open. It’s a surprisingly neat way to present a word game, check out the trailer.
Punlock is designed for one-handed play, which always gets me excited, and although it’ll be a free game there will be no advertisements. Instead the in-app purchases will be for additional themes that each come with new levels, and there will be a free theme given to all players once per day. Seems like a pretty fair deal to me. If you like the look of Punlock and want to get in early, you can pre-order it on the App Store right now and it’ll automatically download to your device when it launches on November 20th. Otherwise keep an eye out for this one to hit the App Store the good old-fashioned way next month.
