SEGA’s SEGA Forever initiative has been steadily improving across the board. While they initially released about 16 games within the first 6 months of this new brand, things have become better for many of the games over time. Since then, SEGA has improved emulation, added new functionality and quality of life fixes to some titles in addition to improving controls for others. Today, they pushed out massive updates for many games and fixed some issues for others. In fact, they updated 13 titles today and many saw big emulation updates while others had a few bug fixes.
The highlights of the big updates that many titles got include the Rewind feature that allows you to go back 15 seconds. This has a 30 second cooldown so don’t think you can just spam it like some people do in modern console racing games. Haptic Feedback is a lovely feature that many big games seem to ignore on newer iOS devices and a lot of the titles updated in this SEGA Forever lineup update include it. When it comes to visuals, there are new filter options and you can now customize controls with remappable buttons.
The list of games that either saw massive updates or just bug fixes in the SEGA Forever lineup are below:
Kid Chameleon (Free)
Comix Zone (Free)
The Revenge of Shinobi (Free)
Ristar (Free)
Golden Axe (Free)
Space Harrier 2 (Free)
Beyond Oasis (Free)
Decap Attack (Free)
ESWAT: City Under Siege (Free)
Streets of Rage (Free)
Gunstar Heroes(Free)
Dynamite Headdy(Free)

lol all free
You'd prefer they were forty bucks each, like when they were cartridges?
Free with option to "upgrade" to local saves, rewind, stuff like that. Worth it, especially now.
Been waiting ages for Phantasy Star IV and Shining Force I/II.
It’d also be rad if SEGA could partner with Capcom to release Mega Man: The Wily Wars; the Genesis ports of Mega Man 1-3. They’re so much prettier than the NES versions.
Wait, hold up, forget all that. Let’s get a port of Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future and freaking Panzer Dragoon Saga! They were both hailed as masterpieces, and they’re both impossible to get ahold of.
SEGA is sitting on a ton of great IP, and it feels like they’re slowly releasing the same Genesis games over and over again.
Mega Man Wily Wars had some major slowdown in places the NES versions did not have. Also the music, while still good, didn't have the charm the NES versions had. I perferred the NES versions on that game.
Sega should really port Seaman as that seems a perfect fit for a mobile device. Also the Space Channel 5 series as those also required just simple taps during timed sequences.
Panzer Dragoon would be great, plus Sega still has a huge back catalog like Outrun, Virtua Fighter and a ton of console games that they should port. It's a shame they just didn't release the console version of the Genesis library. I'd rather just buy the whole collection at once than one-by-one and deal with ads on the versions I don't want to pay the $2 for.
