When Monument Valley hit the App Store several years ago, it felt like the entire world was captivated with its Escher-esque perspective-bending puzzles. About the only problem anyone noted about the game was that there weren’t enough of those lovely puzzles. Well if you’re craving even more perspective-based puzzling then the simply-titled Real Puzzles from indie developer Nazeer Ahmad should be just what you’re looking for. The object is to move a cube around the shape of each level, using the twisting perspectives to change which surface the cube is on before finally resting it on the goal. You can see this in action in the following trailer.
Of course, Monument Valley wasn’t JUST about the cool puzzling, as it also featured a quirky cast of characters and a mysterious universe and story. It seems that Real Puzzles will be eschewing most of that sort of thing in favor of strict puzzling, which is totally fine by me. Its clean interface and 100 hand-crafted mind-bending puzzles should keep those who enjoyed something like Monument Valley but craved more of the puzzle aspect quite busy. Look for it to arrive on May 30th.
