Solitairica ($3.99), a great single-player solitaire-style card game, has turned one year old and to celebrate the developer has dropped the price to $.99, its lowest ever. Solitairica is set in a strange and pun-heavy fantasy world known as Myriodd. All of the hearts of the land have been taken by Emperor Stuck, a serious jerk. You are the hero Myriodd needs and, as such, it is your job to defeat Stuck and free the hearts of its hapless denizens. Gameplay is a blend of good old-fashioned Solitaire and the role-playing, and collectible-card game genre. There are several different decks to unlock, each based on a classic RPG class—Warrior, Wizard, Paladin, Bard, Monk, Rogue, and so on—and each has its own distinctive play style putting replay value through the roof. You improve your decks and abilities as mow your way through Stuck’s minions using gold you loot from them.
Solitairica is fun and simply a steal at a buck. If you’ve not had the pleasure I highly recommend it to any fans of card games, especially clever solitaire variants. You can also head on over to our forums where there are dozens of pages worth of info on the game.
