As you’ve probably read by now, Pathfinder Adventures (Free) is getting some pretty cool Goblin content soon, but that’s not all we’re getting. In a recent blog, the developers have talked about updates coming to the Party Creation and Character Selection screen (as well as other interfaces) that should streamline the whole process, especially for those new to the game. Speaking of new players, the game is getting a substantially improved tutorial, which will come in the form of five short scenarios that will teach specific elements of the game in a clear way. And you’ll get rewards for completing them. Part of the reason for the new tutorial is that around three-quarters of the players forced to play the original tutorial never returned to the game, which is pretty bad.
Pathfinder Adventures is also adding charms, one-time consumables that have immediate effects on your current action like adding a bonus to a check. We are also getting runes, which have a time limit and can boost things like gold acquisition for a specific amount of time or reduce damage. Charms and runes can be bought with gold, and I’m still not sure how I feel about them in terms of cheapening the experience. The game is also getting a roll success percentage indicator that should make it easier to see how possible it is to win your dice check or now. Go here to read the whole blog post.
