GDC 2017 – ‘Portal Jump’ by Play a Lot Studios

TouchArcade Rating:

Ahhhh we’re super behind with GDC content, so strap in for another onslaught of videos from games we saw last week. First up for today is Portal Jump by Play a Lot Studios. It’s a portrait mode one tap style game where you’re … jumping in between different portals, avoiding obstacles, and doing that sort of thing. It reminds me a little bit of those old ball juggling/bouncing Flash games I spent way too much of my time on back in the day:

Portal Jump is due to release potentially on March 9th, so stay tuned for that.

Right on! I picked it up soon after it released but really haven't played it too much honestly.

What a surprise. I passed on this game just based on the fact it's Kemco's. I'll probably pick it sometime when its price drops. Currently I have too many RPGs in my backlog, so I'll pass on this one a little longer.

Anyway, I'll still keep an eye on this one.

      Good iob, Kemco!

My feelings exactly. So glad Shaun took the time to review as usual as I otherwise would have just skipped based on my own Kemco fatigue. Will plan to give this one a try tonight!

      Does it support mfi?

Guess i will go ahead take it out of my wishlist and onto my ioad, heard good things and it looks unique. Thanks for the review

great review, and i agree with it 100%. Its a refreshing departure from what kemco is known for. I love the comparison to Zenonia because I thought the exact same. I have currently unlocked the second djinn, the female djinn who does poison. I really do like this game and I can't wait to see all the djinns.

Thanks, Shaun, for giving this the attention it deserves. I'd recommend that people check out the forum thread as well. There's a bunch of other impressions, as well as good advice on builds, etc.

BTW I get it that folks have backlogs, but this is precisely the kind of game that we need to support if we want more premium experiences in the AppStore -- just sayin'.
