Retrodigio, the studio behind 2016’s Gnomium (Free), is coming back with a new word game called Sokkelo: The Phrase Maze. This word game tries to combine some familiar mechanics with a new approach to make something entirely new. The idea is that you’re given a maze, and you swipe around it to form words of various parts of speech, like nouns, verbs, and et cetera. You’re navigating the maze, and you can form some wacky phrases with the words you’re given. You can see from this early gameplay video how it works:

There’s a bunch of Sokkelo cards that you can collect that contain different words and phrases for you to solve. It seems like an interesting take on the word game genre, and I’ll be interested to see how Sokkelo turns out. Check out the forum thread, where there may just be an open beta in the near future for any interested participants.
