When Torchlight Mobile was initially announced more than a year ago, many in our forums got quite excited because the Torchlight series is really good, especially Torchlight 2. Details on its development have been scarce since then, with the developers preferring to keep everything under wraps. We saw footage from TGS 2016 that showed the game in action, and some information regarding its F2P model didn’t exactly inspire confidence. Despite the trepidation, there are many still waiting to get their hands on the game, and it looks like that date is getting closer. Torchlight Mobile is now in closed beta in China, so hopefully an open beta – or a release date – isn’t too far off.
If you want to learn more about the game, you can watch Max Schaefer talk about its features below, and you can also check out a recent gameplay video above that gives a better sense of how the game plays than the TGS one. Schaefer insists that the mobile version is a faithful interpretation of the PC game, although we’ll see how it’s going to end up playing. The mobile version adds PvP to the game in the form of a MOBA minigame, arena battles, and even fighting head to head. You can also create your own dungeons. According to Schaefer, the game will release at the end of 2016, so maybe not too long to wait now.
