Last year, independent Japanese developer Masayuki Ito gave bullet hell shooter fans two heaping helpings of goodness when he first released .Decluster: Into the Bullet Hell (Free) in March, and then about 5 months later released a completely overhauled and remixed version called .Decluster Zero: Bullet Nocturne ($4.99) in August. We already loved the original release, but we loved the remixed version even more, and to be honest Bullet Nocturne was such an overhaul over the original that they practically felt like to different games, and it’s more than worthwhile owning them both. Well after that double shot of shooter goodness in 2015, Ito is finally back with a brand new shooter called Bullet Hell Monday.
Right off the bat, you can see that Bullet Hell Monday has a different style than Ito’s previous games. It’s much more colorful, and it appears as if he was going for a more vector style than the “graphing calculator" look of the .Decluster games. I absolutely love how it looks, and the action gets so crazy and intense that the visual style should have no trouble melting players’ brains along the way. Bullet Hell Monday will feature more than 50 stages as well as 6 different ships to play. You’ll use points earned during play to level up and upgrade your ship, and each ship will have a variety of upgrade options. Bullet Hell Monday will be arriving October 3rd, which is a Monday, of course. The pay model will be a bit different this time around, with the game being free and a portion of the playable ships being sold via IAP. I’m really looking forward to how this one turned out after Ito’s previous efforts.
