Dark Future: Blood Red States is an upcoming car combat game based on the Dark Future board game from decades ago. We’ve been following its development for some time, and now we have additional information on how the game will play. According to the Dark Future‘s Early Access page, the game will be made in Unreal Engine 4 and will feature RealTimeShift vehicular action strategy, where you can command your ops and vehicles second by second in order to perfectly plan your moves. You’ll be facing both corporations and gangcults as fits the 80s vibe of the game, and you’ll also be able to purchase new vehicles and upgrade them and put together your team of Ops and Interceptors and then upgrade them.
As a child of the 80s, I’m really excited about this one because it reminds me of the original Mad Max movies and all the other post-apocalyptic movies of the 80s. And I do like tactical combat, so sign me up. I don’t have a release date for the game yet, but I think we won’t be seeing it before Winter 2017 at the earliest.
