While we’ve had games like Vainglory (Free) and Call of Champions (Free) attempt to grab the mobile MOBA crown, I still haven’t been hooked. Even though both MOBA I mentioned have had their share of success, part of the problem is that I’ve often felt developers have tried too hard to shoehorn what is a PC genre onto mobile without changing it up much. As we’ve talked about in the past, the upcoming Titan Brawl, which has just soft-launched in Spain, Sweden, and the Netherlands, is hoping to be the MOBA that works the best for the platform. The game squeezes the map into two parallel lanes and the match time into 3 minutes, perfect for mobile. Call of Champions also went for quick matches, but I think that the use of a rather large map didn’t help its cause, so maybe the two-lane recipe will work better.
Now, all this sounds fine, but until players get their hands on Titan Brawl, it’s hard to say whether the developers have hit the MOBA nail on the head. So far, though, I like what I’m hearing and I’ll be definitely giving the game a shot. If you want to play the game now, go check out the soft-launch build now, and if you don’t actually live in any of those three countries, use our soft launch account guide to make an account. And check out our forum page to find people to play with or against.
