Sign Up to Beta Test the Stylish ‘Lost Maze’

TouchArcade Rating:

Lemon Jam has a gorgeous looking puzzler called Lost Maze in the works, and they need your help to test it out. You spin around cylindrical pieces of the various levels in order to help guide the protagonist Misty through the paths without running into traps. The controls are designed to be simple, with tapping to move and stop, along with the ability to manipulate the various portions of the maze. The game has a gorgeous look to it, and the idea of what is basically a linear maze is an interesting idea. Plus, if you don’t care for Misty, there’s a number of other characters that you can unlock and play as.

If you want to try this out for yourself, you can check out the thread in the upcoming games forum to sign up for the iOS beta via Testflight. If you have an Android device, you can sign up for the beta test from this easy link.

There's always going to be some bad cards so I think people are just so frustrated with the state of priest that they are using this card as a scapegoat. It does suck but so does like 30% of the card pool in general. In general I think it's an outcry for people wanting blizzard to be more responsive of what they want and not just what blizzard has in mind. Priest has terrible base cards and this is always going to be an issue. Hopefully they make a couple good early game minions so priest can get on the board. Like a 2 drop that steals a one drop for one turn or something. And maybe bring light bomb back .

They already used a similar argument for why they didn't buff classic cards: bad cards help people understand why other cards are good.

I can also kind of understand the argument that they want to see what the community does with weird/bad cards (cf Majordomo Executis, Bolf Ramshield, Shifter Xerus, etc).

But honestly, I wish they could just say, "yup, it's a bad card".

As a priest main, it really does feel kind of like a slap in the face.

The timing of this card is a shame. I've seen a lot of people who main Priest like yourself and who are genuinely offended by Purify, hard to argue with that much disapproval.

I don't have a particular allegiance to any hero but Priest is almost always the one I dodge in the daily challenges right now. I hope that someone does work out a way to make Priest look half-decent again with some of the other new cards. It's not beyond the realms of possibility - there are always some cards that become unexpectedly useful and see a lot of play after these updates.

I main warrior and shaman but priest is a close third for me. I would like to start by saying that I agree that the state of priest isn't really good right now and getting purify has really hurt peoples' opinion of Blizzard. That being said, the real problem here is that the card isn't designed for an archetype that people were expecting to be pushed, namely dragon or control priest. It's a card designed for self-silence priest. While this archetype hasn't had much success in the past, I think this card could honestly push it in the right direction. Priest wants a good 2 drop right? Ancient Watcher. Now I see some people giving me that "but priest already has aw + silence combo". Well, not only does priest want a good 2 drop, they're also looking for a good 3 drop. The only priest 3 drops are shadowfiend, which isn't really all that good statwise and injured blademaster, which isn't actually a priest card (shh, don't tell anyone). AW + purify offers you a turn 2 4/5. AW + silence already offers this but let's look at the difference. Priest has no card draw. Hand size is the biggest downfall of self-silence priest. It might not seem like much, but let's run through practical application.
            >ancient watcher + silence:
            turn 1: draw card
turn 2: draw card + ancient watcher
turn 3: draw card + silence + injured blademaster
this sequence leaves you with 3 cards after turn 3
            >ancient watcher + purify:
            turn 1: draw card
turn 2: draw card + ancient watcher
turn 3: draw card + purify + draw card (maybe PW: shield + draw card if you have it)
this sequence leaves you with 5 cards after turn 3
The problem with silence is that it either leaves you with open mana or it leaves you with too few cards, making your deck more reliant on draws. The upside is that you get multiple strong cards out very quickly on a mostly empty board. There are certain tradeoffs to both cards but the card cycle is not pointless. If purify was 1 mana it would offer a 4/5 for 2 with overload 1. Hmm, sounds similar to totem golem... except with a +1/+1. And considering totem golem is the best 2 drop in the game that seems like a really jarring change. One day, priest has no 2 or 3 drops, the next day it has the best 2 drop in the game. Most situations I would say let them have a better version because it's a 2 card combo, not just a single draw. But in this specific case it would be kind of a huge swing in the opposite direction from what Blizzard wants priest to do (aka it's too aggro for priest plus allowing you to heal your 4/5 2 drop on turn 3 is kind of insane). I think as priest is, this card is actually a buff, despite 99.999% of the community being in disagreement. Now if suddenly priest got a ton of card draw this card would probably sit at the tier people think it is, but specifically because it cycles a card, it puts you in a really good position going into turn 3. 6 cards in hand after draw phase, basically a 4/2.5 body and turn 4 is the perfect time to play eerie statue, a card which in this specific deck is actually just as good as flamewreathed faceless (7/7 for 4 mana with overload 2 or 7/7 for 4 mana if you use silence). In reality, these combos are less consistent than just drawing said cards from shaman, but the fact that priest has basically gotten pseudo versions of these cards is actually extremely useful. That being said, the real draw of this card has to do with the state of the silence archetype; nothing silences efficiently anymore. The deck has had holes for a long time but only recently with the introduction of standard has it been so utterly useless to run silence minions. this cut down the deck's synergy by a huge margin but with the introduction of purify we now have a new cantrip that can silence in addition to, well, silence. There's also a lot to be said about redundancy in thematic decks (aka "it's worse" doesn't always equate to "don't play it") and overall this card helps priest, just not the kind of priest people wanted. Anyways, that's just my opinion and the way I'm looking at these cards. Again, I agree that other priest archetypes need some sunlight too but I'm not totally bummed that self-silence priest is getting a nice bolster. Sorry this post was so goddamn long, I just think it might be important to someone.

The thing is Purify has no purpose. Card draw? Power word shield has that but for less mana and an actual buff.

Wait, they finally admitted what all Priest mainers have known for years, that Priest is weak? Wow...
