Back in September of last year, prolific mobile developer Ravenous Games announced a new project called Shadowstone: The Lost Oath, a top-down dungeon crawling action RPG with randomized levels. It looked awesome, and quite a step above their previous mobile efforts in terms of complexity. And there was a good reason for that: Ravenous is targeting the PC first for Shadowstone. However, a mobile port is something they’d like to achieve as well should the game get off the ground in the PC world, and that all starts this week with the Steam Greenlight campaign going live for Shadowstone. Along with that comes the first trailer for the game.
While roguelike dungeon crawlers are in ample supply on Steam, Shadowstone does have a great look to it especially in regards to the art style and the extensive character customization. It also appears to have a lot of mouse clicking in it, which would translate quite well to touchscreen tapping (hint hint). If you want to see Shadowstone on Steam, head over to the Greenlight page and give it a hearty “Yes" vote, and hopefully if things work out well there we’ll be playing Shadowstone on our mobile devices at some point in the future. Also feel free to drop by the game’s forum thread to discuss it.
