After bringing turn-based strategy game Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon ($19.99) to iOS (with great success in my opinion), Slitherine is now developing the second installment of its Armageddon-based wargames, but this time around you get to lead the Orks instead of the Imperial Forces. In Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon – Da Orks, you’ll be leading many iconic characters from the Armageddon wars – such as Ghazghkull Thraka and Mad Dok Grotsnik – against all those puny Legions and Space Marines. The campaign comprises of 18 scenarios split along 3 acts, and if you are to prevail, you’ll need to learn how to get the best out of the hundreds of units (many of which are the same core unit but with different weaponry). And when your units survive a scenario, they become veterans and even more valuable for the upcoming battles.
Judging from the game’s description, Warhammer 40,000 Armageddon – Da Orks sounds like it will play very similarly to the original Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon, and that’s not a bad thing since I enjoyed the original. Yes, I still feel that Slitherine’s PBEM multiplayer system doesn’t work as well as it could on mobile, but the game itself is very entertaining both for strategy buffs and fans of the Warhammer universe. We don’t have a release date yet, but if you want to get an early taste of the game, you can join the beta here.
