To be honest, I was expecting a Whispers of the Old Gods-centered Tavern Brawl, and instead we got a repeat of Encounter at the Crossroads, the Brawl that has you pick a class, gives you a completely-random deck, and throws you into the match. I’ve played this Hearthstone (Free) Brawl a few times, and unfortunately it doesn’t look like Blizzard tinkered with the RNG at all. So, this means you’ll see fewer Whispers of the Old Gods cards than older cards since the WoG set is smaller. I was hoping for a Gods-related Brawl that would show off all the craziness those cards bring to the game, but we’ll have to settle with a few WoG cards here and there in an otherwise relatively-entertaining Brawl.

It will be interesting, though, to see where the Brawl mode goes from there. With the new mechanics introduced in the new expansion, we should be seeing some interesting new twists to the mode in the near future (I hope). Also, Blizzard has stated that the boss encounters from the Curse of Naxxramas adventure might find their way into the Brawl as well, so those will be fun to play as well. As for now, go get your free pack (unfortunately not a WoG pack), and enjoy the RNG.
