If you’ve been following Hearthstone (Free) news the last few weeks, you’ll know that Blizzard has been constantly spoiling cards from the upcoming Whispers of the Old Gods expansion. With the expansion releasing April 26th, Blizzard went ahead and revealed all 134 WoG cards yesterday, and everyone’s is really excited about what’s to come next week. We got to see many of the new cards in action during Blizzard’s exhibition matches yesterday, and it’s clear to all that the meta is about to blow up and become something unrecognizable and, hopefully, awesome. I hope that with the release of Standard and the new expansion, watching and playing Hearthstone will be filled with unexpected moments not solely because of RNG, but also because of players’ deckbuilding decisions.
Some of the cards revealed yesterday look really fun. For example, the new Druid Legendary, Fandral Staghelm, triggers both effects of Choose One cards, and Twin Emperor Vek’lor, a neutral Legendary with Taunt, summons another copy of the card if your C’Thun has at least 10 attack. Speaking of C’Thun-related minions, the Warlock card Usher of Souls gives +1/+1 to your C’Thun whenever a friendly minion dies.
As you can see from these few examples as well as the exhibition matches in the video above, deckbuilding in Hearthstone is about to become much more entertaining and much more complex; Blizzard has tried to avoid adding auto-includes in the new set, and I hope it has succeeded because there’s nothing interesting in already knowing half of the cards in pretty much every deck before the match even begins. You can check out all the cards here, and you only need to wait for few more days until Whispers of the Old Gods is released on April 26th.
