Back in January we caught the first screens of an interesting sounding upcoming game from Crescent Moon and We’re Five Games. It was called Hammer Bomb, and it was an auto-running maze game similar to Pac-Man in a way but presented as an old-school first-person dungeon crawler. Talk about a crazy mashup! Anyway, today Crescent Moon has announced a release date for Hammer Bomb: next Thursday, March 31st, and they’ve just released the first trailer for the game.
As strange as this blending of genres sounds, it actually works incredibly well in the time I’ve spent with an early build of Hammer Bomb. You capture that great feeling of exploration, discovery, and combat you get from a dungeon crawler but in a super mobile-friendly package that’s very easy to pick up and play. Early players in our forums have been loving it as well, and I really think fans of both dungeon crawler and arcade genres are going to fall in love with Hammer Bomb when it hammers its way to the App Store next week.
