Retrodigio’s Gnomium was initially revealed earlier this year, and it looked like quite the satisfying little word game. The title has since kind of gotten a bit of a split, with a pared-down Gnomium: Pocket Edition planned for release ahead of the bigger Gnomium game. Well, if you’re in Canada or New Zealand (or can fake it), I have good news: Gnomium: Pocket Edition has just soft launched in those territories.
Do pay attention to the tutorial and rules for the game, as the game is a bit chaotic, and might not necessarily play a lot like other word games you’ve played. But it does have a lot of fast, frantic word-matching action to plow through, with a time and limited play element. The game is set to go worldwide in early January, with the soft launch being a way for Retrodigio to get some feedback and analytics on the game going forward. I still haven’t fully made sense of how to do well at it, but it’s a lot of fun to make all those words!
