A trailer for Escargot Kart rolled thru my inbox in the middle of last week and really caught my attention, but since its planned release date was November 13th I figured I’d just wait for the game to actually be out before telling you all about it. However, something went awry with the Apple approval process and Escargot Kart did not in fact launch last Friday as planned. According to the game’s official Twitter account, the game was “processing" for the App Store, so again, I figured hey I’ll just wait until the game is actually out to talk about it. Welp! Here we are another Friday later and Escargot Kart is still nowhere in sight. So I figured screw it, let’s put this trailer out here and see what you guys think!
So, long-time iOS gamers may see a snail racing game with cel-shaded graphics and immediately think of the superbly awesome and sadly no longer available Snail Mail from Sandlot Games, or perhaps Turbo FAST (Free) from PikPok for a more contemporary comparison. Either way, snails+racing=gold. Escargot Kart doesn’t quite look like a traditional racing game, but it does appear to have some cool power-ups, interesting track designs, multiple characters, in-air tricks, and a nice sense of speed. And that name! So punny!
Hopefully the current approval SNAFU can get worked out and I’ll finally be telling you about Escargot Kart when it’s, you know, actually available to download, sometime next week. Stay tuned.
