Rescue Parties and Spread the Glory of Coors Light in the Upcoming ‘Super Refresh-Men’

About a year ago, Coors Light released a silly little advergame on the Xbox 360 called Refresh Men. It was received well, largely because unlike most advergame, it actually was pretty fun. Well, soon the App Store will be getting similar treatment with the upcoming Super Refresh-Men which similarly puts you in charge of saving the world and making sure everyone has Coors Light.

I got an early preview build, and it plays just like the Xbox 360 game in that it’s a light-hearted spin on games like Streets of Rage or Golden Axe. In the game, you play as one of the four Refresh-Men, who much like in classic beat em’ ups all have slightly different play styles and special abilities. The plot this time around is a little different, in that some evil dragon has scorched the land and, well, the solution to that, of course, is Coors Light.

Five different levels are included, each filled with unique enemies and a boss at the end. Everything you kill drops Coors Light, which are collected for points, and eventually tabulated on a Game Center leaderboard when you beat the game. It takes around a half hour to play through the five included levels, and you can be fairly terrible and still finish it as continues just knock points off your score totals.

Here’s the trailer for the Xbox 360 game, which plays a lot like the iOS version:

Super Refresh-Men felt complete, so presumably it’ll be released whenever the rockies are blue enough. We love Coors Light around here, and could make a strong argument about it being the official beer of TouchArcade with how much Jared and I drink it when we’re together. It’s pretty much the best beer.

So, Super Refresh-Men definitely scratched an itch I didn’t even know I had of needing a supremely silly Coors Light-packed advergame on my iPhone. We’ll post more information when it’s available, in the meantime, I’m sure the comments of this article will be swarmed by beer snobs so proceed with caution.
