The Twitch mobile app (Free) has just gotten a super-cool update for iOS 9’s multitasking features on iPad. Twitch went all out with support, adding in Slide Over, Split View, and Picture-in-Picture support. You can mix these in, too. You can use PIP to watch a video while doing something else, and slide over the chat from the main app. If you have an iPad Air 2, iPad Mini 4, or get the iPad Pro down the road, you can use Split View to watch and do something else at the same time without having the PIP window in the way, if you so desire. Or as they say – you can now watch Hearthstone (Free) and play Hearthstone at the same time. Wow, what a world.

I’m glad that apps like this are adding in support for iOS 9 functionality. I feel like iOS 9 multitasking adoption has gone a bit underutilized so far, and seeing a key app like Twitch support it is great. Now, let’s see the mobile streaming services add support it, too!
