I’ve been doing some digging on the World of Tanks: Blitz (Free) forums today because I had a feeling the new update should be coming at some point in early September (it fits the timing of their updates), and I was right. While official word is somewhat confusing and often in Russian, what I have been able to find are a few features that should be in the upcoming update as well as a developer Q&A that offers some info on the game’s future.
So, first the update. Update 2.1 will add clan chat, a feature that has been needed after the addition of clans, an improved algorithm for combat missions so the game will offer you missions more suited to your tanks, a few more tanks and tank destroyers (details here are vague) as well as some nerfs and buffs (details here are, again, on the vague side). The image below should give you some clues about the new content. You can find some of the information here, but make sure to hit that Translate button unless you are Russian.
The developer Q&A offered some new information on the game’s future. First, the developers are doing their best to add camouflage to the game before the end of this year and intend on making concealment have more of on impact on gameplay (good news for Tank Destroyers). They will rework the Desert Sands map, make penalties for unsporting conduct more severe, probably add a daily reward for logging in the game, and improve matchmaking for low-tier vehicles. The game’s community is expecting a lot from WOT Blitz, especially because they are constantly comparing it with its PC brother, which is constantly getting some great updates. Hopefully, WOT Blitz will continue improving because I personally like this game a lot. I wouldn’t be surprised if the update comes out this week, but I have no verified information at the moment.
