If you weren’t playing Hearthstone (Free) when the Goblins Vs Gnomes expansion came out, then know that the expansion cards first came out in Arena mode before they were released. It looks like Blizzard is doing something similar but instead of going the Arena way, it decided to highlight the game’s new mode, Tavern Brawl. Therefore, this week’s most Glorious (Blizzard’s words) Tavern Brawl will be called The Grand Tournament Match and will be all about the new cards. The Brawl will feature a thrilling match between two potent forces; one will be led by Medivh and will feature a deck built around the Inspire mechanic. On the other side of the Brawl will be Alleria’s forces that will be all about the Joust mechanic. The Brawl will run as usual from Wednesday to late Sunday.
Now, if we go by GVG release, the GVG version of Arena went on for 5 days, and on the fifth day (not of Christmas), the expansion released. The Grand Tournament Match Brawl will also last for five days, so I wouldn’t be at all surprised if TGT releases on Monday, August 24th, which was the date many speculated because of some data mining. Hopefully, we won’t have too much longer to wait for the expansion, but I’m glad we have the Tavern Brawl version of TGT to mess around with (even though it’s going to be pre-constructed decks from the looks of it) until the whole expansion releases. Tavern Brawl will start tomorrow, Wednesday, as always, so only one more day of patience.
