Boom Dots (Free) recently got updated with more content, and I really think you should play it if you haven’t already done so. This game involves just firing a dot at another dot that’s moving left to right, but the fun comes in doing it as it shifts speeds, and in trying to hit it dead-on to get the ever-increasing perfect bonus. As well, there’s the missions to give you a goal to attain, like getting a certain number of perfect shots in one game. The reward for doing so? New themes that mix up the look of the game as you keep completing missions. It brings a solid amount of replay value to a game in a genre that’s usually just about high scores. And this is their second key update, adding in 40 new missions, 4 new themes, and the ability to skip missions if you so desire.

Boom Dots is a lot of fun, but it’s the kind of game that’s tricky to, say, give a full review to, because it’s relatively simple. In fact, this is the problem with a lot of fast-reaction micro-games: many of the good ones deserve to be called out, but are hard to fit into the review structure of a site like ours. But Boom Dots is a game I have played hundreds of sessions of, and really feel like it deserves a special call-out now that the game has been updated with more stuff. So give it a download, I play so many games that the ones that keep me coming back to them after long periods of time? They’re really worth checking out, and I think you should play Boom Dots.
