Somewhere along the line, someone figured out a pretty clever pun involving a calendar date and Star Wars. They almost immediately regretted it as everyone and their Uncle Owen clamored to be the first in their class, office, or social network to mention it. Well, whether you’re the sort that eagerly waits for May 4th every year to make that joke, or the type who wants to Force choke people who do that, the one thing I’m sure we can all agree on is that sales are pretty nifty.
Star Wars games are on sale on almost every platform you can name, and you know iOS isn’t going to be left out of that party. While not everything Star Wars is on sale, there are at least a few nice deals for you to consider, and there could be more joining as the week goes on.
Star Warsâ„¢: KOTOR, $9.99 First on the menu is Bioware’s excellent RPG based in the distant past of the Star Wars universe. It has just about everything you could want in a Star Wars game: a strong cast, cool Jedi powers, sassy robots, lightsaber fights, and shocking story twists. Feel free to check out our review of the game or the recent RPG Reload feature on it for more information, but for $2.99 this is basically a no-brainer.
Star Warsâ„¢ Pinball 7, $1.99 Okay, everyone already saw the Knights Of The Old Republic sale in AppShopper (Free), I’m sure. How about this one, then? Not only is Star Wars Pinball on sale for $0.99, every single Star Wars table in this app and in the main Zen Pinball (Free) app is also on for $0.99. That’s half the usual price, and a great deal for some great pinball. Check out our review of the second set of tables if you want a bit more info before taking the jump.
Star Wars Rebels: Recon Missions, Free Wait, you say you saw the price for Star Wars Pinball drop in AppShopper and assumed the IAP would be down, too? Clever, clever. Well, I’m sure this one will surprise at least a few of you. The recently-released Star Wars Rebels: Recon Missions is free to download, but to play the whole game, you need to buy some IAP. Normally, the Master Pack that unlocks all of the levels and both extra characters goes for $4.99, but it’s currently on sale for $3.99. Meanwhile, the currency-doubling Hope Doubler is on sale for just $0.99, down from its usual $2.99, each of the two boost packs is reduced by a dollar to $1.99, and the Master Extras Pack that gets you all three of those things is down to $2.99. This is a great game for fans and non-fans alike, as you can read in our review.
LEGO® Star Warsâ„¢: TCS, Free Maybe it’s something a little more classic you’re craving, though? I can dig that. LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga, one of the finest Star Wars games around and the best LEGO game on the App Store, is also having an IAP sale. Normally, unlocking the full game costs a reasonable $9.99, but this is not a time for reason. That’s why the price is currently down to a mere $6.99, a steal of a deal that would make any smuggler proud. If you have a particular hatred of one trilogy or the other for some reason, you can pick up the Prequel Trilogy IAP unlock for just $1.99 instead of its usual $3.99, or the Original Trilogy IAP unlock for $3.99 instead of its usual $4.99. That might seem like a better deal than buying the whole thing at once, but there are a bunch of other small IAPs included in the full game unlock, so just go ahead and grab that one. As you can see in our review, this game is so good it even makes the Prequel Trilogy awesome.
