We can all have a good laugh at the number of Warhammer games that are out there. Because there’s a lot. We saw Eisenhorn: Xenos at GDC. Warhammer: Snotling Fling? (Free) Sure, I guess! But then the Warhammer games keep coming, and coming, and I’m just wondering if there’s someone at Games Workshop that just rubber-stamps anyone with a proposal for a Warhammer game because they keep coming, and it stopped being funny a while ago when I’m pretty sure a new Warhammer game gets announced every single week. Seriously, last week we posted about Deathwatch: Tyranid Invasion. It’s gotten to a point that I have to call this phenomenon the Clash of Warhammer Saga. This week, it’s Warhammer: Arcane Magic from Turbo Tape Games of UHR-Warlords ($3.99) fame, with this being a turn-based strategy board game that is based on the physical game of the same name.
Basically, I’m pretty sure at this point that every single Games Workshop property ever made has a licensed game in the works right now. If people keep buying them, then hey, I guess developers will keep making them. This one should be available soon, and hey, if you want a digital adaptation of that board game, you’re in luck. Hopefully it’s friendly to newcomers unlike Blood Bowl ($4.99) is. But, look, Games Workshop, I have a proposal. I want to make a Warhammer game. Literally everyone else is making that or a Marvel action-RPG. I don’t know much about Warhammer lore, and I haven’t made a game since high school. But what I do have is a version of Game Maker Studio installed on my computer and the desire to contribute further to the madness. Let’s do this thing.
