‘Subway Surfers’ Developer Unveils First Video of ‘Stormblades’, a Visually Impressive Sword Fighting Game

TouchArcade Rating:

Earlier this month, Subway Surfers (Free) developer Kiloo Games announced in our forums that they were looking for beta testers for their new upcoming game Stormblades, a collaborative project with Emerald City Games who you may be familiar with by way of their mobile game Lionheart Tactics (Free). Stormblades was described as a “free-flowing, fast-paced, hack’n’slash action game" with an emphasis on sword battling. For the past week and a half, beta testers in the forums have been raving about Stormblades, but Kiloo has been keeping a pretty tight lid on showing any screens or videos of the game. Until today, as they’ve released the first official gameplay trailer for Stormblades.

If you watched that and thought “Hey that’s like Infinity Blade," yeah, it’s definitely quite similar. However, according to some of the beta testers Stormblades has some unique tricks up its sleeve that makes it feel quite different and fresh compared to the Infinity Blade series. Also pretty much everyone has been raving about how great the visuals are. I’m definitely looking forward to finding out more about Stormblades, and seeing as it’s on track for a March release I’m sure we’ll be hearing much more soon.

Very odd it went Android first vs iOS since most folks know iOS folks do pay vs android like free. Will be interesting to see if it will be paid or not and how it pans out if paid since it did go free first.

That must be why of the top 10 paid Android apps, 3 are 99 cents, 4 are 2.99, and the others are 1.99, 4.99 and 6.99. They really hate paying huh?

Yeah but that's the top paid Apps, you've no idea whether that is 5000 copies or 30 copies.

          1. MrMuggz

You actually know EXACTLY how many copies because in the Android App store it shows how many copies have been sold at the top of the app listing. The details are broad but it says:
            Installs
            100,000 - 500,000

Nice generalizations. Besides, it's a lot easier to get on android, so that's probably why.

The only reason why Android users "don't like" paying for apps is because the vast majority of them are on entry level devices and just can't afford to. I bet that the bulk of people who own actual Android flagships have no issue paying for apps. I have an iPhone 6, a Nexus 5, and a 2014 Moto X (which is my primary phone) and I have no issues paying for apps. In fact, I prefer to. If Apple had entry level products, guaranteed the owners of them would exhibit the same behavior.

Anyone else find something weird about the animations? And are those slow down suppose to be an effect or bad slow downs in the game from too much happening?
