YouTube is starting to become as dangerous of a rabbit hole as Wikipedia. This morning when looking up a video for the article on Magic Shot I posted, I went wandering down the related videos path which went to another video on French billiards, to something on the English channel, to something about the Titanic, to this video about how accelerometers work.
It’s something you really might not spend too much time thinking about, as part of the magic of iOS device is they “just work." How they work, or why they work is essentially irrelevant to the end user. But, it isn’t black magic that’s powering the tilt controls of your favorite iOS game, it’s actually a highly miniaturized and advanced electronic component which is beautifully broken down by YouTuber EngineerGuy in this video:
