Miniclip has just announced a really interesting-looking new title coming to mobile in 2015: Beast Quest. The game is based on the eponymous book series, and will be an open-world RPG about finding treasure and hunting monsters of all shapes and sizes. While I’m unfamiliar with the books, certainly what we’ve got here is a game that looks like Oceanhorn ($6.99) crossed with Infinity Blade ($5.99). Check out this video with an interview and gameplay footage below:
There does appear to be a heavy an Infinity Blade influence in the combat, where timed swipes and taps will be used to fight enemies throughout the world, though exploration will allow for free movement. There are six worlds promised in total, each one based on each of the first six books in the Beast Quest series, and Miniclip is promising for a lengthy gameplay experience: the first world is claimed to take several hours to complete. The game will be free-to-play, and there’s talk of this being aimed for kids as well as adults, so it will be interesting to see how challenging it is. Still, this game looks mighty ambitious and rather promising: one of the developers at Miniclip is in our forums talking about the game if you are interested!
