Early last year we posted about EA’s intentions to bring the Frostbite engine to iOS. This summer saw the announcement of Metal, which allows developers low-level access to the GPU and CPU of iOS devices which only has served to make these things more possible.
Well, this morning EA posted a couple screenshots of the results of this. Battlefield 4 running on iOS. They mention there’s still lots to do, and while the screenshots do look beautiful, I’m curious at what framerate iOS devices can produce those levels of visuals.
They mention there’s still a lot to do, but if you want to follow along with the developments of this game be sure to add Battlefield 4 to your TouchArcade watch list.
