In late July, Simogo officially announced their latest project The Sailor’s Dream. There was a lot of mystique as to what The Sailor’s Dream actually was, as it looked to break the traditional “video game" mold much like Simogo’s previous games Year Walk and Device 6 had. In a new blog post today, Simogo says their vagueness and lack of information on The Sailor’s Dream was a conscious choice, as there’s plenty of unique elements to the game that they want you to discover for yourselves. To prove they aren’t totally devoid of humanity though, Simogo is offering up a new teaser video of sorts, which they say is “a little something for you to think about and ponder without spoiling any surprises."
As usual with Simogo, I’m both completely confused by and helplessly dying to know more about The Sailor’s Dream. They have that special talent of making you excited and curious about something without ever really revealing what that something is, and it’s pretty awesome. One key piece of information they did divulge in their latest post is that The Sailor’s Dream is quite far along and they’re just “wrapping it up and currently polishing, testing and squashing bugs" which means it shouldn’t be too much longer before we can experience what this latest project is all about.
