There’s a new mobile game in the works from AMC and Next Games built around the ultra-popular The Walking Dead franchise. It’s called The Walking Dead: No Man’s Land, and though the exact gameplay hasn’t been revealed yet, Next’s CEO Teemu Huuhtanen says of the upcoming game “Our approach is to stay true to the main themes of the TV show: survival strategy, finding safety for your people, balancing between right and wrong and, of course, action when it comes to fighting against the hordes of walkers. We respect the creators of The Walking Dead immensely and want this game to portray the world they have created as closely as possible." Here’s a brief cinematic trailer.
As mentioned, The Walking Dead: No Man’s Land is from AMC and “will allow players to experience the world of the iconic show through gameplay exclusively developed for smartphones and tablet devices" reads the press release, as opposed to Telltale Games’ Walking Dead: The Game series which are original storylines based on Robert Kirkman’s comics. It’s unknown whether No Man’s Land will follow any storylines from the TV show or feature its characters, or if it will be an offshoot of sorts. Now that the game has been unveiled, expect much more information in the weeks and months to come, and look for The Walking Dead: No Man’s Land to launch on mobile early next year alongside the mid-season premiere of The Walking Dead TV series’ fifth season.
