Earlier today we detailed the latest news in the world of True Skate ($1.99), the popular skateboarding simulation from True Axis. As of just a few moments ago, that update has gone live in the App Store as has the very limited time free promotion of the base download of the game. The big new feature in this update is a new park, the real life street course from the 2013 Street League event in Kansas City. This is what that new park looks like.
Like all the additional parks in True Skate, the Kansas City course is a 99¢ IAP and I wasted no time downloading it. It’s definitely a trip skating around a course that I know so well from watching it on TV, but compared to all of the levels True Axis has created for the game thus far, it definitely feels a bit sparse. It’s still a lot of fun though and well worth the buck. Also as mentioned, this is the first time ever True Skate has been free since releasing in October of 2012, and that initial free download will get you the Underpass skatepark which is also loads of fun.
If you’ve been on the fence with True Skate now is definitely the time to check it out for free, and if you like it, six additional levels are available to download from within the app for a buck a piece. I’m really looking forward to how this fledgling partnership between True Skate and Street League Skateboarding pans out in the future.
