Sega Announces ‘Sonic Jump Fever’, a Leaderboard-Focused Take on the Sonic Endless Jumper

Sega’s announced a sequel to Sonic Jump ($2.99) is coming this summer. Sonic Jump Fever will have more of Sonic, Knuckles, and others jumping through levels, collecting rings, getting powerups, and bopping enemies, as Sonic is wont to do, except vertically.

The focus this time around will apparently be on high score competitions: leaderboards will be displayed before each round with friends’ scores displayed. The plan is for leaderboards to be reset twice a week, moving on to new levels.

The game is expected this summer as a free-to-play release: it soft-launched in Canada for about a week in early June, and certainly could make a reappearance at some point before its worldwide release.
