The first episode of Telltale’s latest adventure game The Wolf Among Us (Free) hit the App Store in early December, and this week the developer has posted a note in their forums that the second episode is scheduled to hit the first week of February.
Well, assuming everything goes well with Apple’s approval process that is. As they state on the blog, “We are working hard with all of our partners (Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, Apple) to coordinate everything, but we’re confident enough to announce [the release window] here." It can be a tricky business trying to simultaneously launch a game across several different digital download platforms, but it sounds like they’ve got a handle on it.
Telltale also mentions that this second episode is hitting later than they’d hoped for various reasons, but moving forward with future episodes the delay shouldn’t be quite so long. It’s not something us iOS gamers have felt so much, as we didn’t get the game until December, but console and PC players have been playing episode one since last October so the wait for episode two has been significantly longer. This shouldn’t be the case with episodes three thru five.
