Trials Frontier – Forum Thread – Ubisoft went bananas today and announced a whole mess of new titles for mobile devices set within some of their most popular brands. Let’s jump right into it with Trials: Frontier, which was actually already announced back at E3 in June of this year, but they have just released a brand new trailer for. Also, they’ve announced that it will be released before the end of this year. Finally, a proper Trials game on my iPhone.
Rayman Fiesta Run – Forum Thread – Next up is Rayman Fiesta Run. You can probably guess what’s in store from this if you are at all familiar with the original Rayman Jungle Run ($2.99), and if you aren’t somehow familiar with it, what the heck is wrong with you? Rayman Jungle Run took the fantastic visuals from the console hit Rayman Origins and repurposed them into expertly-designed auto-running levels that could be played using simple taps of the touchscreen. Long story short, it was an outstanding experience, and I’m more than a little excited for this new entry to release sometime this fall.
Rabbids Big Bang – Forum Thread – While we’re on the topic of a Rayman game, this is probably a good time to bring up the Rabbids. The lovable, psychotic bunny rabbits have warmed our hearts for years on consoles, but are getting their very own mobile title called Rabbids Big Bang come this October. The object is to whack your fellow Rabbid into space using a baseball bat, and then carefully and strategically maneuver him to an end goal using a limited jetpack resource as well as the gravitational pull of nearby planets. Basically, sounds a lot like Rabbids meets Angry Birds Space, which is A-OK with me.
Assassin’s Creed: Pirates – Forum Thread – Finally, the massive franchise of Assassin’s Creed is getting an exclusive mobile spin-off this fall called Assassin’s Creed: Pirates. In the game you’ll jet around the Caribbean Sea as a new pirate captain named Alonzo Batilla, exploring the vast waters, engaging in battles with rival pirate ships, and unlocking the clues to discovering a long-hidden treasure. Basically all the bad ass pirate type stuff. It looks really good, check out the trailer.
As mentioned, all four of these titles from Ubisoft are scheduled to lands before the end of the year. It’s shaping up to be yet another massive holiday season for iOS gamers, so be sure that you have each game added to your TouchArcade (Free) Watch List to stay up-to-date with any new information or release dates, and be sure to visit the afore-linked forum threads for each game to see what your fellow gamers have to say.
