I love Halfbrick, you love Halfbrick, the whole frickin’ world loves Halfbrick… Which makes today a very exciting day. PAX Australia is currently underway, and Australia-based developer Halfbrick is there in force. In fact, they just announced a new game which is playable on the show floor: Colossatron: Massive World Threat.
In the game you manage a massive robotic snake known as the Colossatron, and you’ve got one goal: Destroy as much stuff as you possibly can by attaching power nodes to your snake and surviving the military onslaught commanded by the one and only General Moustache. You don’t control the actual snake itself though, instead, you play a matching game of sorts using the colored power nodes to build the Colossatron into something incredible.
Every few seconds a new power node flies in, and you have to position it on the snake. Different strategies are formed depending on how you match the colors up, and the nodes themselves actually combine to create upgraded tiers of nodes in a system that’s sort of like matching colors of condos in Monsters Ate My Condo, only, with more lasers.
Colossatron: Massive World Threat is still heavily in development, and Halfbrick isn’t talking release dates or pricing, so stay tuned for that.
