Deus Ex: The Fall is a third-person, cover-based shooter set during the events of Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Coming to iPad and iPhone “soon," Fall puts players in the boots of Ben Saxon on a quest to expose the truth behind “a drug conspiracy." Much like Human Revolution‘s protagonist Jenson, Saxon is equipped with all sorts of insane augmentations that give him the power to bust through walls and choke a dude, hack terminals, and bust through walls and choke a dude. These bad guys are going to wish they never conspired, surely.
Announced out of thin air, we don’t have a lot to go on so far. However, there’s this video, which shows off some of the game’s mechanics. It could just be clever editing, but Fall looks like it’ll play an awful lot like Human Revolution. That could be bad, so-so, or great depending on how well the virtual controls and UI are implemented.
We’ll oil up the all-seeing eye’s swivel so it’ll grab more information faster. Fall could be really cool, especially if it keeps in line with the tone and themes of its predecessor. A lot of fascinating, thoughtful stuff was explored.
