Hey, remember The Other Brothers? It was a Mario-inspired platformer with a neat graphical style reminiscent of Sword & Sworcery ($3.99) or McPixel ($2.99) that we first heard about way back in January of last year. After some weird legal drama and a shakeup amongst who was developing the title, The Other Brothers resurfaced in May and seemed on track for a 2012 release.
Well, obviously that didn’t quite happen, but after a productive public beta period late last year and a new publisher in 3D Attack, it now appears The Other Brothers is finally set for release next month. Here’s a new video of it in action, which looks like a massive improvement in terms of variety over anything we’ve seen of the game previously.
I’ve been super excited for The Other Brothers since its first unveiling, but after all the setbacks I’d sort of lost hope. I’m happy it appears to be back on track and coming so soon, but I won’t be fully satisfied until I actually have it in my hot little hands.
