Galaxy on Fire 2 HD (Free) has seen a couple of price drops since its launch in October 2011, but none have been as dramatic as this one. For a limited time, you can grab Fish Labs’ sci-fi shooter for just 99¢ instead of its usual $9.99. That’s, like, a lot of savings, according to our math wizards.

What’s kinda cool for fans is that the SD (Free) and HD versions of Galaxy on Fire 2 can talk to each other. If you’ve got an SD save file, you can transfer that file to the HD version and continue right where you left off, which is a pretty cool bit of functionality.

Fish Labs isn’t done with Galaxy on Fire, by the way. A new expansion, dubbed Supernova, is on the way. Last we heard, it’s hitting this September.
