Godzi Lab‘s long awaited new project Happy Street (Free) has finally launched in App Store markets worldwide. It’s a side-scrolling town-building game featuring a ton of cute characters, really nice visuals, lots of different shops to build, and a heavy Animal Crossing vibe. Happy Street launched as an open beta in the Canadian App Store in late June, and we took a look at it last month and enjoyed our time with the game.

I’ve been playing the game for several weeks now, and although I’m not the hugest fan of these freemium “building" games I’ve actually had a ton of fun with Happy Street so far. The whimsical personality of the game goes a long way, and the freemium aspects don’t bash you over the head like some similar games do. With a little patience you can do pretty much anything in Happy Street without spending a dime, and it always feels like there’s something cool to do even if you’re waiting on some cooldown timers to expire.
