Firemint’s Real Racing game has received a new updates and a price drop down to $4.99 from $6.99. Real Racing is one of the premier racing titles on the iPhone and recently saw the release of a Volkswagen lite version called Real Racing GTI.
This newest update brings the full version up to par with the Lite by offering two of the Volkswagen GTI vehicles and also provides a bit of a discount for late adopters.
If you’ve been holding off on getting the full version, here’s your chance. If you still haven’t tried the game at all, the Lite version is certainly a “must try".

here is my question for you,
not that i would play this, i haven't even played eliminate
my question is for in general ngmoco games
do you have to sign into Plus+ in order to play
I remember downloading Topple 2, and it would not let me get passed the Plus+ login screen to play
I have a first gen Ipod, 80% of the time when i use it i have no internet.. AT&T is nowhere to be found in my area
I understand my case is a minority to this platform
I understand the reason ngmoco is pushing the plus+ netwrok
but it irritates me
just had to get that off my chest
and also i want to know if you are required to login to plus+ network to play
eliminate AND touch dogs are both online games
You can play eliminate against bots offline. You can't get upgrades with Plus+, though.
I meant "without Plus+"
Yes, you do. I have this app. and I didn't want to sign up either, but it is what it is so yeah you do have too. Hope that helps
I just played 20 min of this app and I think Nintendo is in deep doo doo if more free apps like these come out.
Yeah, I mean Nintendogs selling around only 22 million copies worldwide at full price... Oh, the humanity! Deep trouble, indeed!
This isn't about the ipod overtaking nintendo's market, it's more about cutting into their sales since they own about 90 percent of the handheld market.
I know full well what you meant and you are still incorrect. Nintendo just recently revealed its financial results and it showed that despite many ignorant people stating the iPhone is competition and eating into Nintendo's business, the DS has remained steady in hardware sales and grown in software sales.
It becomes contradictory when you say it is eating into Nintendo when the figures show they have become unaffected.
When you have the likes of New Super Mario Bros DS selling over 20 million copies worldwide at full price, and it still selling around 200k copies a month worldwide in 2009 despite it being released in 2006, and this is similar with their other properties (Mario Kart, Brain Training, Nintendogs, etc) it becomes rather foolish to say another company is affecting them.
I don't think Nintendo is ever going to be in deep doo doo given there saturation of the market! Keep in mind, someone has to pony up nearly 300 bucks to just purchase this device.
My question is when will they offer free power cells for Eliminate just to download this?
If you're willing to cough up $30 you can also get the version with 400 dog bowls and have a phat dog from the start!
touchpets is a great game but i do wish they gave you the same amount of food bowls charge as ELIMINATE obtains energy per matches. Sometimes the experience feels very short then you have to wait again for food and all of your tasks aren't even achieved; Then you log in later and you have to start over again. That needs fixed please NGMOCO and it is my only true complaint.
Regardless Touch Pets is a solid game that will have you hooked from the second you adopt your puppy.
My dog made the front page. Sweet! ^^
Please feel free to add me. Plus+ Stro
Really!? Oh wait I forgot I had the Canada version... I love it but I think paying for fake dog food is dumb. Also you can't play this if you're not connected to the internet. I wish I could just flat out buy it.
Is it me or does NGMOCO seem to be really money hungry lately. They crippled Eliminate with their money scheme now they are crippling this game. Who pays for fake dog food? outrageous
It’s up to each person how much is too much to pay.
In this case, you seem to be paying for something you don’t get to keep—unlike eliminate where your upgraded are permanent once earned and you can play with them without limit. That makes me shy away from spending, and so I’ll use this as an occasional free toy. Others may find good value from spending to do more with their dog. To each his own.
But what you’re buying is not imaginary dog food. You’re paying for the time and effort to develop the game you’re enjoying, and for the servers that keep it going (and keep costing ngmoco month after month).
Paying for something that cost time, money and creativity to deliver to you is only fair. The amount is up to the creator, and that’s fair too. And if that payment is ongoing (subscription model like this) then that’s the creator’s choice as well. Lots of other services work that way. We gamers can take it or leave it.
Time will tell which models and pricing levels work best to keep companies profitable—and thus bringing us more games!
Meanwhile, it’s not outrageous our money-hungry to charge for games, nor to experiment with what works. How else will they know?
The only way you can say ngmoco is being greedy is if you know how much they spend on R&D and servers, and you also know what their sales are, and then you judge their profit to be “too high” by some measure. But none of us have those details. And if a company makes a game, I think it’s reasonable for them to make whatever profit they can.
But when you put $30 into the game. Do you get everything? No. It's like a trial.
You can go buy a full version game on Xbox or PlayStation for the same and less. It you get excess to everything. The games are a hundred times bigger then the mini games the iphone has. Plus DLC is mostly one time purchase that adds a completely new section to the game in most cases. Plus not at stupid price.
$30 dollars for dog food is a joke. It's like you get half the game, and for the other half, you pay and you don't even get to keep it in the end. Then you pay again. $60. $90. $120. $$$
TOUCHPETS IS NOT WORTH THE $MONEY.
Or does that kill the game in the end. Ngmoco could actually kill the game in the long run. Month.. two months. As people stop playing due the stupid pay to play style. People aren't going to pay to play forever.
I would pay $30 for eliminate. Get the whole game, level up and experience a balanced game. Which eliminate is far from balanced right now. Its a great game that I would play more... but having to lvl your character up with money. It's stupid. It's a quake mod for crying out loud. It's fun, but not worth endless $$$.
Eliminate is still playable though, and fun. Just you don't get excess to everything all the time... like a trial.
I actually hope NGMOCO fail at this attempt to screw over the customer. And go back to make a proper game. We should be fighting this.
@Adams Immersive
This is hardly what I would call a subscription base service. Usually with a subscription you have unlimited access for a set amount of time. I can buy a whole years worth of Xbox Live for just $50. Yet with Eliminate and Touch Pet they put a limit on even the $30 DLC each. Thats is $60 on two games plus more when you run out of power cells and fake dog food. You could literally end up paying hundreds of dollars for each game. You can buy Metroid Prime Huneters for the DS for the same $29.99 with that you get a long campaign and you get unlimited access to multiplayer online. So, yes I do think NGMOCO is being money hungry. The sad thing is NGMOCO used to be one of my favorite game companies for my iPhone. They just want to much money now. I am not trying to be cheap. I would gladly pay $30 for either game assuming they did away with the limitation.
Probably going to get a real dog instead.
so eliminate wasnt enough of a disaster? are the ngmoco people off their meds? playing with the dog is incentive to buy it toys, buy toys for your friends dogs etc. now theyre making you pay to play with the dog?? i'd but a toy for a friend's dog for fun (even though that is pretty dumb), but im not going to pay just to keep the thing awake. hello geniuses.. the free games are POINTLESS if you have a HIDDEN BARRIER TO ENTRY!!!!! yeah, youll get a lot of downloads, but not a lot of follow through. its sad, this game, like eliminate has a TON of potential. even as an enthusiastic iphone/apple fan, this is getting pretty damn annoying.
There are other ways to combat app piracy than this pay as you play crap. I can't believe some people are actually supporting this scam. Die ngmoco
Well put!
Servers cost money to maintain. You can't have flat fees for these type of games.
Same, won't support this game.
Pay-to-play is getting ridiculous (Eliminate's acceptable - can play, no credits) but TouchPets' ridiculous requirement of constant online (which incurs expensive data charges and basically rules out any playing when you're overseas OR in places with bad reception OR ipod touch users) means this isn't a game for me.
Review your model, ngmoco. Requiring to stay constantly connected is a foolish decision, especially since its not needed for a virtual pet game.
IMHO, social network should be the sole component that requires online connection, and frankly I don't think it's too brilliant an idea for a virtual pets game.
I don't think I've read a more apologetic article in my life... goodness me.
Finally, the 8-years old out there do have their perfect game.
Oh yeah! Laika's on his friends page!! :P
PS: Giz still has feelings for a sleeping Laika, but for some reason the romance with Pickles doesn't show as a romance or ex-romance...
Let's see, $30 and I own Nintendogs outright and can play it as much as I want. Here $30 gets me some virtual puppy chow that will last me a week or two. Yes, Nintendo must really be quaking in their boots. I don't mind buying games and supporting devs, but this is a lame money grab. I don't even know if I'll be buying any NGMoco games after this, it just makes me sick.
Boy, what a bunch of whiners. You get a pretty good amount of play time entirely free. You don't even *have* to pay anything... and that for a high quality game, too! There will be people that are willing to, and they shouldn't complain either. Take it for what it is and stop looking for conspiracy theories all the time. To me, it's a nice casual free game to pick up once in a while. Why complain about something that's free again?
Geez.
its free to own, not free to play. i want them to make money, but this is ridiculous. games are supposed to be fun, and having a countdown timer on the game makes it not fun, no matter how great the game is. it totally kills the experience. this is common sense. ngmoco has clearly lost their minds.
its still free to play! you just wont progress as fast or be as rich as other people! Quit complaining! If you dont want to put money towards a good game, that is handheld console quality, then dont, go play imob. but then again, you probably dont like that game either cause theres a timer involved too! Ngmoco made the perfect decision with their payment system. Plus, they didnt create these games for you to sit on your butts and play them for 2 hours straight, they're not an rpg. Think of them like Farmville, Yoville, or Cafeworld on facebook. You're suposed to play those games for about 10 mins a day and then your good. These are perfect games for people that have a life outside of their handheld deviece, because they don't have to constanly be managing their phone/ipod, they can play for a couple mins, go to work, school, etc. and come back 8 hours later and not have missed anything important.
@ Hirdsaw
He is not complaining he is just stating facts. How about you stop complaining about other people complaining.
You know, I'd like to buy this for my 6yo daughter to play. She'd absolutely LOVE it... however, I'm not giving her my iTunes password to spend $$$ on upgrading or feeding her puppy.
So, apart from that she can play the game for a few minutes then the dog goes to sleep for hours and she can play a few minutes again?
Is ngmoco not smart enough to realise this would be a perfect game for the kid's market, however kids don't generally have credit cards nor income.
Soooo... I'm not buying it.
Plus, with only 150mb per month quota on my internet (in Australia) for my iPhone I'm not going to let her play a game which REQUIRES internet access the whole time you play the game. I guess it's fine in the US where you get real 'unlimited' internet access for your phone.
Plus+ games are fine, however Plus+ should not be mandatory.

Omg I have a male and female dog (like they're actually mine not playmates). The female one was the first one I had and she was really really playful and enthusiastic until I got the male one to keep her company. Now she's rly quiet and hardly plays with me unless the male is gone. Idk is this becos the male has like 10 girlfriends? Lolz, wateva the case I give. I'm just wondering y my male dog keeps breaking up with his girlfriends. Hes in luv with a girl dog for like two hours and thn they break up for no apparent reason. I try get them together again and they just scowl at one another, stick their nose up and walk away from eachother. OK... a little help here... geez how can ex-romances become romances again? Plus, my female dog rly rly needs a boyfriend, help?
