Free, Three-Level ‘Retro LITE’ Cave-Flyer from BHG

Late last month, Big Head Games released iPhone cave-flyer Retro through the iTunes App Store.  Retro debuted at $4.99 but has since dropped in price to 2.99 [link].

For those that want to try before they by, BHG has since released Retro LITE [App Store], a free version of Retro that features the full game’s first three levels, playable in both Normal and Hard difficulty modes.

True to the traditions of classic Sci-fi, Retro is set in the near future, our experiments to harvest the Sun´s energy is about to send it supernova, your mission is to rescue scientists stranded on orbiting planets. Retro takes you…deep below the surface of orbiting planets, the super smooth control system allows you to tilt the iPhone to turn the craft, tapping the screen to apply thrust, gliding through the tightest caves to find stranded scientists, keeping one eye on the fuel and shield and the other on the rocky outcrops.

We reviewed Retro shortly after its release and found it to be the App Store’s best cave-flyer and an excellent iPhone game in general.  Now there’s no excuse not to give it a try.

Just got the free version of the game and am thoroughly impressed. I was gonna save my money for puzzle quest, but have decided to go with this game. Never been too big a fan of these bejewled games, always thought they were boring, but this game is awesome.

I bought this back in November & must admit that this is still one of my favourite App's. The game includes great variety for longevity & an amazing amount of polish to impress. I would highly recommend this game! Press purchase now!

This is by far my favorite game in the App Store. Great to finally see it getting the recognition it deserves here on Touch Arcade.

There's a built in feature that I kind of hate that keeps track of how much time I've spent with this game. I've had this game since it was first released, and it's getting embarrassing to see how many hours I've sunk into this.

Great game, though. Best money I've spent in the App Store.

    Buy this.

i got the $5 full version a few weeks ago, it's great - wife digs it too, undoubtedly because it's so shiny :) i'd like to find more games like this - any tips on other highly polished puzzle games?

    thanks,

I can't imagine why TouchArcade gives this game so much coverage. Have you ever tried Attraction? Please review the 0,99 cent game - it's by far my favorite and the most polished gem-combiner out there in the iPhone.

Well okay, along with Bejeweled 2, that is.
