I happened upon wayward saga as "dark souls of iOS" and now with the name change, I think it is a good change as Kepa has mentioned something along the lines of "Fromsoft isn't million dollar jerks" (extreme paraphrase) but I think it's a dual bonus, all the souls series fans will get this in an instant on their iDevices and all the iOS players might pick up a souls series console game :)

Does WS have a story? I'm not even sure. Must-buy either way, though.

I actually wondered about this game’s former title as soon as I heard about the King.com litigation.

The story of WS takes place at the same time as the story of Mage Gauntlet. There's a Lexi cameo as a rare event. We'll continue the story of Mage Gauntlet one day in a sequel, hopefully will start on that this year. It'll be an open-world game this time around.

Frungi: Yeah. Each character has its own story and endings. There's also optional story bits you can find in the dungeon, told by ghosts, MG style books/notes, and monsters yelling at you.

Beyond excited for this! Mage Gauntlet was a day one purchase and has never left my phone! It's been such a long wait but looks totally worth it!

Count me in for a minute one purchase! Anxiously awaiting this title since there were whispers of a "sequel" in the Mage Gauntlet discussions! So great to follow how that evolved!

Thanks to Red1 and other moderators for maintaining the original post, I went by to do some updating and see it's good.

Too bad those early pictures from Facebook don't seem to work anymore (maybe my workplace filter is just blocking them). Wayward Souls has come a long way.
I understand the practically of avoiding potential legal situations; but I sure do wish someone on iOS would throw caution to the wind and push ahead with their ideal title in cases of questionable trademarks just to contest things and stand up to intellectual property bullies.

Like these people at Candy Jam: http://itch.io/jam/candyjam

...or the new PC game Escape Goat spin-off called Candy Escape Goat Saga:http://magicaltimebean.itch.io/candy-escape-goat-saga

They're not really "standing up" to them. Not really really, because none of those games are commercial games. Big difference, because they have nothing at stake.

Not sure what the minimum is right now, need to check. Usually we try to do the lowest device possible, but there's also the usual "forced obsolescence" to worry about that comes from new Xcode changes.

EDIT: iPhone 4 looks fine at a glance. Anything before that gets pretty shaky though.

Nice, good to know it will run smooth before I get a chance to upgrade my phone :) will there be any way to transfer saves or will it be a clean slate on every device? I am getting really excited for this either way!

No save transfers in the beginning, I think. We may have time to squeeze in a Mage Gauntlet style iTunes save export. But that's pretty clumsy, not sure if we should bother. I want to avoid iCloud this time because I suspect it caused a lot of weird bugs with Punch Quest.

Submitted this month, so it'll come out either really late this month or next month if there's any sort of delay on our or Apple's end.

I haven't had time to check. It gets confusing as to what's obsolete with the current Xcode version we're using.
