It'll have to be tomorrow though as it's going on 3 am where I'm at..sigh. So far it's really nice. Great interface/menus. Artwork is beautiful and a bunch of upgrades. The play mechanic is "sort of Threes" but it's actually more intricate and involved. Plenty of powerupS and loot. One glaring omission is GC, however the game is beckoning me to come play more, so I'll be back after lady sleep has her way with me sugimulm Well-Known Member Aug 28, 2010 2,456 46 48 The last time zone for iOS game releases :( #7 sugimulm, Nov 1, 2014 No problem dude, get some rest. Wil wait for you to spend my money, lol. Great call on the racing one, loving it! ramzarules Well-Known Member Sep 13, 2014 2,112 128 63 Greece #8 ramzarules, Nov 1, 2014 Hey, so impressions as promised after getting yesterday's promo code: Like rich said, the artwork is beautiful. You get coins which you can spend in powerups and upgrades for your viking. The gameplay is a puzzle style i was not familliar with, you swipe and the whole board moves, so you try to stack the numbers as high as possible in a number of moves, and at the end of the moves, the highest number gets executed (ie you have a sword with 1, and a sword with 8 stack, the sword 8 is going to be your attack.) I'm still trying to figure out the finer points, especially for the keys opening the chests (i always fail at that) but all in all, quite enjoyable. If you like this puzzle style, you should give it a go! mr_bez Well-Known Member Dec 20, 2012 2,053 3 38 #9 mr_bez, Nov 1, 2014 Have been playing this on and off all day after getting a promo code. I kinda have mixed feelings. I like the graphics and the basic gameplay, but it feels a bit unfair at times. You're heavily punished if you fail to defend against a ram, and if you get one straight away or get a few in a row, they can be impossible to defend. There are no IAPs but you do need currency to buy unlocks and this is handed out pretty stingily at frst. The rate at which you earn it eventually imrpoves, but you can get extra by sharing on social media. I get the desire to use word of mouth to spread the word, but I'm always massively distrustful of incentivised recommendations anyway (I've deleted more than one Facebook friend for Candy Crush invites). It also feels like the Challenges aren't brilliantly balanced/implemented. I've still got two of the three I started with after several upgrades. I have managed to complete three others, but as you aren't shown your new challenge when you complete an old one and only see them when you die, I completed one of those I earned before I knew what it was. I still don't. Also, I can't skip the opening sequence when reopening the app. These aren't huge issues and I'm sure they could be corrected in an update. Overall, it's a decent puzzle RPG with no IAPs, but there's still an emphasis on grinding to upgrade. It doesn't feel quite as polished as some other games in the genre and there doesn't seem to be an end goal (e.g. like 10000000) so I'm not sure what there is to keep me playing longer term. If you like this sort of game though, you could do worse. rIcHrAnDoM Well-Known Member Patreon Silver Nov 17, 2008 7,936 30 38 Steelworker/Welder Indiana, USA #10 rIcHrAnDoM, Nov 1, 2014 Last edited: Nov 2, 2014 mr_bez has summed things up pretty accurately. One thing I'll add is that while the game does show you briefly how to play, it could be a bit better on explaining things. Also, I really do like Lost Viking, but without GameCenter I'm not sure how long I'll stay motivated to keep trying to beat my own best. Anyway, despite my mixed feelings I've kept playing and it definitely feels less arduous now I have a few upgrades under my belt and the coins are coming a bit faster. Qwertz555 Well-Known Member May 22, 2010 2,322 29 48 #14 Qwertz555, Nov 2, 2014 That's from the Dev's upcoming thread: ...Small, paid game with no in-apps (planning to add coin doubler in future ) No Gamecenter and no doubler, right ? At some point i had to make a cut by buying new games, since i simply can't support all indie devs out there. This seems to be one of them. If i like a game, i want to be able to buy a doubler right away (as an additional support) and not a month later, when i (possibly) lost interest in playing the game, already. Promises as "we will update soon" got screwed up by too many other devs in the past as well, imho. I want a "perfect" game (doubler/GC/control options etc.) right from the beginning. Anything else seems rushed and/or lazy to me. Btw, i never got an answer/reaction to my post in the upcoming thread, although the Devs are here... mr_bez Well-Known Member Dec 20, 2012 2,053 3 38 #15 mr_bez, Nov 2, 2014 I find the idea bizarre that a game is imperfect without a doubler. Usually I find that the presence of a doubler means the balance is off one way or another (before or after purchase) and often both. I'm happy without it as I know the upgrade pace has been tuned to play without it (even if I had my concerns early on). skidz26 Active Member Oct 16, 2014 33 0 0 #16 skidz26, Nov 2, 2014 Last edited: Nov 2, 2014 Great game. I like how the concept of "threes" has been expanded upon. Only bug I've come across so far (not a big deal) is that I can't share my high score on Facebook to get free coins. rIcHrAnDoM Well-Known Member Patreon Silver Nov 17, 2008 7,936 30 38 Steelworker/Welder Indiana, USA #17 rIcHrAnDoM, Nov 2, 2014 That's odd, it worked for me. I'm liking this more and more as I play. I can see that it'll be staying on my phone for awhile, I do hope to see GameCenter integration, but I don't have to have it here. ***Anyone who knows me from these forums should be shocked as I almost won't even look at a game without GC*** vectorarchitekt Well-Known Member Dec 29, 2013 2,425 135 63 #18 vectorarchitekt, Nov 2, 2014 Pixeye....PLEASE update the "in development" dungeons in Dungelot 2! I do notice this game came out and work is being done on Dungelot 3 (which despite issues with D2 I am still excited about) what I am asking is a small follow up on D2. Did it become more trouble and messy then could be fixed or is anything new being done with it? I am deeply sorry for posting it in this thread but like the first guy mentioned this thread seems to have a pulse and the D2 thread seems to have flatlined. Despite the issue with D2 I am very excited about the work on the new projects but I think we need closure or a update on D2.
